I guess the term “ditaola” is not your first to hear. It is not a surprise, some of us have family members who are traditional healers and have the ditaola for their healing purposes for their special patients. This ditaola can be called divined bones. People who have these bones as traditional healers say you only get them through a calling of the Badimo (ancestors) … These bones are given to a specific person as a gift to help and heal those around them.
I won’t be
mentioning any names in the article but I will try by means to showcase the
main point about our main topic “ditaola”
How to get the divination bones?
Those people
who own the ditaola
say, first they have to go to the initiation school which is hosted by a
professional traditional healer, through there, they will attend all the
sessions that are to be given. As this is a calling, you have to get a call
from your spiritual ancestors and guide you to where you can get the right
initiation schooling… They further say these bones were owned before by, that’s
why you get to receive a calling to pursue the owner of the divine bones further
– they pass from generation to generation.
What is ditaola (divination bones) used for?
It is said that
the ditaola (divination bones) are for religious purposes and are used by traditional healers, herbalists, priests,
diviners, and prophets. This is often used by Africans as they are religious
life… Ditaola is
used to connect the traditional healer with the patient’s ancestors so that
the traditional healer will get guidance from the patient’s ancestor on how to
heal the patient. So, according to traditional healers, they serve as an associator
or mediators.
