Every teacher in
South Africa is encouraged to be registered with SACE… Some of them knew that
to register they have to visit the branch for registration. Since the commencement
of the pandemic, I made researched and found that one can register for SACE at
home comfortably. This information was evident in the SACE Official Website that
one can, yes register for SACE while at home… According to SACE, it is defined as a
professional council for teachers, that aims to enhance the status of the teaching
profession through appropriate Registration management of Professional
Development and inculcation of a Code of Ethics for all educators… Now, since
SACE can be registered online, how do we go about SACE registration online?

Sace Registration Online
On the SACE Official Website is said that to register for SACE one has to go to e-services first to register their profile… if you have a profile already just head and log in then apply to SACE through the e-services site. How to do SACE registration online?
Below are the steps to follow:
- Go to e-services and register your profile if you are new (If already registered, just log in)
- To register with e-services, you will have to go through five steps, namely: personal details, contact details, address details, password details (Password Example; Jacob@2021), and verification details (type in the numbers or letters that are given in the box)
- After you created your e-services profile log in and look for “SACE Professional Registration” at the bottom, then click on it
- Next to “Home”, click on “New Application”
- Read by scrolling through the “Terms & Conditions and Code of Professional Ethics for Educators”
- At the bottom was written “I have read the terms & conditions and Code of Professional Ethics for Educators”, and tick in the small box to proceed with the registration
- After ticking the box, give it some time to load and land you on the page that has “Application Categories” (which are Qualified Educator Applicant, Student Educator Applicant, and or choose from Special Registration Categories Applicant). Choose your category
- You will be given an online form that will be needed to be filled out. Fill out the form to complete your SACE registration online

How To Pay Sace Registration Fee
SACE Official Website states that SACE will not accept hard cash, meaning that it should be settled electronically. If one is registered with SACE will have to pay via bank transfer or other electronic ways… To get the banking details you can get them Here… (I also, suggest that one verify the banking details by calling or emailing SACE for Banking Details confirmation. I will provide SACE contacts at the end of this article). However, one could be asking how much is the SACE registration fee?
SACE registration fees are as follows:
- South African Citizen is R200
- Non-South African Citizen is R400
Please take this important note, you will find it with the categories to choose from stating:
- Make sure you have all the necessary documents before starting the application process.
- The current registration fee is R200
- Kindly note that payment must be made before completing the application form as proof of payment must be uploaded with the registration documents. No applications will be accepted/processed without proof of payment.
- All copies must be certified by a Commissioner of Oath. The certification must be clear, state that it is a true copy of the original, and not be older than three months.
- The documents that are not clear will not be accepted.
- All documents must be saved as pdf files.
I Forgot E-Services Password and Or Username
The process to get your forgotten password or username is almost the same. I will try to show you some simple steps to follow to fix your password or username:
- Click “Forgot Username or Password” > Then provide your email address used when creating the profile > A link will be sent to your email to reset your password > Or your username will be sent to the Email address you entered.
