- Go on to the e-Home Affairs website and register
- You will receive an OTP (one-time pin) to confirm your cellphone number
- You will receive another OTP to login into your profile
- Complete your application form for a smart ID card
- Upload the supporting documents
- You can make an online payment or choose to pay at a branch of a bank
- Make a booking at a Home Affairs enabled Bank Office
- Print your confirmation letter
- You will receive an SMS notifying you when your card is ready for collection
How Much Is a Smart Card ID in South Africa?
