Mamelodi Sundowns Close to Winning Betway Premiership After Crushing Stellenbosch FC
Mamelodi Sundowns are now just one point away from winning the 2024/25 Betway Premiership title. This comes after their 3-0 win over Stellenbosch FC on Sunday, May 5, 2025.
The match started strong for the Brazilians. Lucas Ribeiro Costa scored the first goal in the 6th minute, followed by Iqraam Rayners just six minutes later. In the 18th minute, Arthur Sales added a third goal with a shot that deflected into the net.
With this win, Sundowns now have 67 points from 26 games. They only need one more point from their last two games to be officially crowned champions. Even if Orlando Pirates win all of their five remaining matches and reach 67 points, Sundowns still have a much better goal difference.
