Former Al Wahda and Al Ahly head coach, Pitso Mosimane, has hinted at his interest in the coaching position at Kaizer Chiefs, making a bold statement about his willingness to take on challenging projects.
Following the departure of Molefi Ntseki in October due to a
disappointing start to the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season, Kaizer Chiefs have
been in search of a permanent coach. Cavin Johnson has temporarily filled the
coaching position, overseeing five matches with three wins and two losses.
Despite the interim coach's performance, the passionate
Chiefs supporters have been vocal about wanting Mosimane to join the club. The
accomplished coach, having three CAF Champions League titles to his name, is
currently unattached after parting ways with Al Wahda.
When questioned about the possibility of taking the reins at
Chiefs, Mosimane expressed his open-minded approach to coaching opportunities.
He emphasized his readiness to undertake any appealing project, drawing
parallels with his previous experiences.
"I go everywhere as long as you show me the vision and
we are aligned. I’ll work for any team, I want to have the energy,"
Mosimane mentioned in an interview with Kaya FM. He also shared nostalgic
memories of his connection to Kaizer Chiefs, recounting personal experiences of
supporting the team during his youth and witnessing their training sessions in
Phefeni.
While Chiefs have had a turbulent start to the season,
missing out on both the MTN8 and Carling Knockout Cup, Mosimane's expressed
admiration for the club highlights his deep-rooted connection and potential
interest in taking on a pivotal role in its coaching staff.
